No trip to Singapore is complete without a trip to Orchard Road for a spot of shopping. My first stop is always Ngee Ann City which houses my favourites, Takashimaya and Kinokuniya.
Everywhere in Singapore you will find a beatuiful tropical garden.
Cute Barbies in Takashimaya.

My son loves the Toy Department in Takashimaya, as it sells so many toys unavailable in Australia, such as Tomica World trains and cars. There is a good variety of Japanese toys plus the usual Sanrio lines.
Washi from Kinokuniya
Pretty paper goods from Kinokuniya.
This branch of Kinokuniya has a larger variety of papergoods and craft items compared to the KL branch. I think we visited Kinokuniya 3 times whilst in Singapore.
Don't forget to visit the food basement of Takashimaya - it is a wonderland of delicious food.
We also visited the new ION shopping mall on Orchard Road. It has a huge Uniqlo and MUJI, where we bought plenty of clothes and household goods. There are lots of other interesting shops, with fashion the dominant category. We had lunch at the very fabulous Food Republic in Wisma Atria. If you love eating, you must try this for the mouth watering range of mainly Asian food. From memory, we walked through an underground walkway all the way from Ngee Ann City to Wisma Atria and then to ION. It beats walking in the heat. See my next post for my shopping results.
I love it when you find a big store that you love, it never ceases to amaze me how big UNIQLO is globally and how big some of their stores are - men's and women's clothing piled high and going on forever!
