SWAROVSKI AND PEARL NECKLACE.

Our Japanese friends from my son's school left Australia to relocate to Singapore today. We will really miss them. The mother has been very generous in tutoring my daughter in her Japanese studies, which has helped immensely. As a goodbye gift, I made her this necklace.

I hope we can visit them in Singapore one day. I might even squeeze in a bit of bead shopping while I'm there.

SWAROVSKI NECKLACE

I made this necklace for my mother in law for Mother's Day. Sadly, I don't have a mother.
All I want for Mother's Day is a full night's sleep, without getting up twice to test blood.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers of the world.

Swarovski Golden Shadow Pendant

I don't have any new puppy photos to show, so here is one of my latest beading projects, which I made for my sister's birthday.
Most of the components I purchased in Singapore. Singapore has some fabulous bead shops. I wish I could just zip back there when ever I wanted.

Lily of the Valley Necklace

Another necklace, created in my car.
This guy is such an amazing player, kicking 5 goals in last night's game.

SWAROVSKI NECKLACE

Since my son started rowing, I spend a lot of time by the river. As he has diabetes, I need to be close by in case of any medical emergency, and to look after his insulin pump. He currently rows 6 hours per week, so that's 6 hours I have to sit in my car, or by the riverbank. But, I don't like to be idle, so I either sit in my car with my laptop doing booking keeping for my business (Yuck!) or I do beading.

Yes, I look like a weirdo sitting with a booklight making jewellery in the backseat, but I love it. I bring some coffee and have the radio on - it's quite cozy. So, here's one of the finished items, all produced in my car. Beading on the riverbank is a bit more challenging, as you have to contend with the wind and mosquitoes. But, it can be done.

Japanese Gifts and Swarovski Jewellery

Last weekend we said goodbye to our lovely Japanese exchange student who lived with us for 5 weeks. It was a great way to learn more about Japanese culture which we love. She gave us these beautiful gifts; wrapping cloths and a purse.
The good news is, my daughter will study at her school in Tokyo for a short time next year.

I made this ring on the weekend. I purchased the beads from Kiwa online, as they have everything in one store. They seem to be the only place where you can buy Swarovski crystals and the matching settings.
Unfortunately, Kiwa don't ship internationally, so I had to use a forwarding service called "Tenso"

I also made these earings - well all I had to do is place the crystals in the settings. They came as a kit from People's Park in Singapore.
Does anyone else agree that crafting is a great way to de-stress?
