Japanese Gifts and Swarovski Jewellery

Last weekend we said goodbye to our lovely Japanese exchange student who lived with us for 5 weeks. It was a great way to learn more about Japanese culture which we love. She gave us these beautiful gifts; wrapping cloths and a purse.
The good news is, my daughter will study at her school in Tokyo for a short time next year.

I made this ring on the weekend. I purchased the beads from Kiwa online, as they have everything in one store. They seem to be the only place where you can buy Swarovski crystals and the matching settings.
Unfortunately, Kiwa don't ship internationally, so I had to use a forwarding service called "Tenso"

I also made these earings - well all I had to do is place the crystals in the settings. They came as a kit from People's Park in Singapore.
Does anyone else agree that crafting is a great way to de-stress?

  3. what's a wrapping cloth? Is it like paper gift wraps but cloth? Do they not like wasting paper so they recycle clothes? Other cultures are interesting.... I love the Japanese aesthetic.
